Chateau Musar Dinner Thursday May 9th 2019. Special guest speaker Marc Hochar will be joining us.

Explore The Terroir of Lebanon’s Bekka Valley! We are honored to have Marc Hochar of legendary Chateau Musar join us at elements to share his story and some incredible vintages of his family estate. Join us on May 9th for a 4-course community-seating dinner. $170 pp. Arrival time is 6:30, dinner begins at 7pm.  And here are some notes from @marinvino, our brilliant sommelier ~

I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting Marc Hochar of legendary Ch. Musar and heard firsthand the fascinating stories  about the love and dedication of the winemakers who protected and cultivated the vineyards during Lebanon’s tumultuous history,
as told through the gift of wine! 

Grapes for their flagship white, Obaideh & Merwah, are grown at 1400 m altitude on calcareous, gravely soil.  They age gracefully showing deep amber, reminiscent of a mature white Graves or “dry sauternes”, 
complex, tropical, spicy, nutty, mineral and briny. Great stuff!  We’ll be tasting 2003 vintage:)

Flagship reds are a usually a blend of Cabernet, Carignan & Cinsault and given a particular vintage expression can be Bordelaise or Rhone like: deep baked fruits, dried figs, damson plum, cherries, pepper, violets… turns soft, silky, earthy & mysterious 
with age – meditational wine! We’ll be tasting 2000 vintage!

Ch. Musar also makes a wonderful Rose from Cinsault grape which we’ll be pouring at the reception.  Their younger “Jeune” ’17 white and ’15 red will accompany first couple of courses.

Our chef Scott and the team are creating a four course dinner to highlight these extraordinary wines! In order to keep it an intimate evening the reservations are kept for the main dining room only. Don’t miss this unique opportunity of getting to know the story behind this legendary estate!
